1. The novel takes place in Kabul and is about a boy named Amir and his friend who he grew up with, Hassan. Amir feels as though his wise father Baba prefers Hassan over him. He thinks his father blames him for his mother dying in delivery. Amir frames Hassan as a thief and loses his friend. Amir and his father eventually escape to Pakistan due to the Russians invading. Ten years later they are living in California and Amir graduates college, making his father proud. Years later, Amir gets married and his father dies. His old friend Hassan still lives in Kabul and he needs help finding his son. Amir,out of guilt from his childhood, travels there to provide assistance and redeems his relationship he once had with Hassan.

3. The novel has a tone which Amir expresses through the theme of redemption. He is constantly expressing a confessional tone in order to gain the acceptance from his father and mostly his long lost friend Hassan.
4. Symbolism was a primary literary element presented in the novel. The pomegranate tree represents Amir and Hassan's friendship and the quality of their friendship. In the beginning of the novel when the two boys are best of friends, the tree is lively and full of pomegranates. Near the end of the novel, when Amir returns to Kabul, the tree is shriveled and nearly dead.

A Poem Worth Loving
O Captain! My Captain! by Walt Whitman
O CAPTAIN! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

We have made some great advancements in technology that enhance the human senses, especially in the area of sight. Telescopes, long distance lenses and optical scanning technology have made some major advances and the far-reaching distance that they provide exceeds the range of the human eye. We do make better and better sight enhancements like contact lenses, multi-focal glasses and even Lasik eye surgery. Hearing technologies include, hearing aids, telephones, speakers, ect. Scientists are developing technologies that enable us to use all our senses while allowing us to reach concepts and objects in remote locations. Emerging technology is a topic we should familiarize ourselves with. This is our future. It’s always beneficial to know what’s on its way when it comes to technology. The purpose of this study is to discover how breakthrough technologies involve all of the human senses and provide a new relationship between humans and technology. The Open Question
In the novel, The Poisonwood Bible, Orleanna Price was subject to her husband’s strict and inconsiderate ways. He appeared to be living a life that was based on helping other people. When his true intentions were to cover up his own guilt and preserve him a spot in heaven. He holds a heavy guilt on his shoulders so he is constantly trying to save himself without regarding the safety of his family.
Orleanna has to deal with this man and his actions on a daily basis. For that task alone she is admirable. But the main reason I find her behavior condemnable is due to her getting past her passive ways and taking her remaining children out of the Congo, against her husband’s wishes.
